Lady Gaga: ‘I got pinched in hallways and called a slut in high school’

Lady Gaga has opened up about her high school years, admitting she was bullied and felt “worthless.”

Speaking in The Guardian yesterday (May 14), the singer, who releases her second album ‘Born This Way’ a week tomorrow (May 23), said she believed her experiences in high school shaped the person she is today.

She said: “I used to get picked on. I got thrown in a trash can on a street corner by some boys. I got profanity written all over my locker at school and all the others were nice and clean. I got pinched in the hallways and called a slut.”

The singer said though that her experiences at high school shaped her. She said: “Those things in life that haunt you are just part of what you must through in order to become great.”

She also said she believed her message was “self worship.” Asked about her devoted fanbase, she said: “It’s more self worship I think, not of me. I’m teaching people to worship themselves.”

The Only News You Need to Know Today: Osborne threatens to cut Greek aid if they vote for Jedward

Chancellor George Osborne is targeting Eurovision success by threatening to withhold financial aid from countries who don’t back UK entrants Blue, writes Crispin Fisher.

During negotiations with Greece over a further bail out Osborne made it clear to the Greek finance minister that any further assistance would come with strings attached.

Top of his list of demands was 12 points for British band Blue.

Osborne’s tough stance has been warmly welcomed by Euro-sceptic MPs.

And there have been calls for the Chancellor to send a similar message to the finance ministers in debt-ridden countries such as Portugal, Spain and Ireland.

Singer and former Greek Euro MP Nana Mouskouri has hit out at Osborne for trying to play politics with Eurovision voting.

Mouskouri said: “This is a song contest and should not be turned into a political football.

“In Greece we vote according to the quality of the song in every case.

“It just so happens Turkey are crap and that every man, woman and child in Cyprus is a musical genius.”

    MYMP The Unreleased Acoustic Collection

MYMP The Unreleased Acoustic Collection is an array of songs that have already been performed by the band in a lot of their gigs all over the country. Apparently, the song selection is based on their most requested songs. Similar to their albums in the past, this collection tells us something about love and its many phases: friendship, intimacy, passion, reminiscence and loss. The whole package is sure to win the hearts of the love daydreamers and hopeless romantics.

After years in the business and releasing 11 platinum albums, the band, in the ownership of Jacques “Chin” Alcantara (also their guitarist), continues to produce the country’s best acoustic covers. Indeed, MYMP is ready to do it again. The band that has established a name in the industry will once again conquer the airwaves and bring us to that extra relaxing “love bubble”.

MYMP The Unreleased Acoustic Collection is now available in all record bars nationwide, released by Galaxy Records distributed by PolyEast Records for only P299.00.

Watch Lady Gaga Perform ‘Judas’ at Cannes

Okay, seems like the people of France would have appreciated that sax solo a lot more than “Magdalene fashion,” but we guess she has to push “Judas” a few days longer. The “waaah ah ahh ah” bit is definitely getting catchier with age. – nymag

Beyoncé’s new album is a number between one and ten.

Beyoncé has announced that the title of her forthcoming fourth album will appropriately be 4. “We all have special numbers in our lives, and four is that for me,” the singer told Billboard. “It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.” The album, which promises to be her most experimental record yet, is due out sometime this summer.

Godney the Holy Spearit Biographic Comic Out Today!

The Spears comic will focus on her rise to stardom, her documented private life and her efforts to be understood, said Patrick McCray, who wrote the issue.

“She is far more complicated than most people realize. No matter what preconceptions you have about her, there will always be more layers and surprises,” he said in a statement. “Beyond the performer, there is a real human being there, struggling for a real life, struggling to connect with her art, and struggling to be understood.”

Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis said Spears’ life reflected the core of the company’s “Fame” line of biography titles has tried to achieve.

“She was created in the Internet Age to be put on a pedestal, but no one can stand the glaring lights of celebrity that intensely,” he said. “The title seeks to find the person within.”

The 32-page issue, illustrated by Ricardo Jaime, comes out Wednesday in comic book stores and online retailers.

    Praise Godney!

Lady Gaga’s Creative Director Admits to Ripping off Madonna

Choreographer Laurieann Gibson has helped Lady Gaga with her often spectacle-filled performances. She admitted Gaga was ripping off Madonna in an interview to the LA Times…

LA Times: A lot of her visual aesthetics have been compared to Madonna. As her creative director what are your thoughts on that?

Laurieann Gibson: Listen, [Madonna] should be bitter because I did it on purpose, and you can quote me. I did it on purpose because for all those kids who believe that you can’t, I wanted to let them feel that you can. And that’s what I represent, that’s what Gags represents. That’s what this movement represents.

Lady Gaga’s “Judas” So Stupid That The Church Doesn’t Care (The Superficial)

In her “Judas” video, Lady Gaga plays fast and loose with Catholic iconography, and generates several untoward statements, but she typically dances on the line without going over it. Perhaps that is because the video is a mess. Incoherent, it leaves the viewer more perplexed than moved.

    When Charice meets Bruno Mars

One singing sensation’s reject is another’s hit single. Filipinos aren’t very familiar with Alexandra Burke, but the original singer of “Before It Explodes,” the carrier track of Charice’s upcoming second international album, is a big star in England (her song, “Hallelujah,” was UK’s top-selling single of 2008). She won the fifth edition of the Simon Cowell-produced British talent show, “The X Factor” (which debuts in the US on Fox and on GMA 7 this year).

    Rico Blanco for Status Magazine

“In our latest Music Issue, we featured a lot of great musicians coming from all over the world. We had to get someone who’d rep our city, and who else to do it but singer and songwriter Rico Blanco. This dude has been around and, with the good things he’s been doing, we just couldn’t see why not. We had to shoot him for this feature and, of course, the STATUS team pulled through.”

“Writing ‘One Day’ For Charice Was ‘Organic” – Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas has always been somewhat of a prodigy. So it’s no surprise that he is spending his time away from the Jonas Brothers crafting tracks for other pop singers.
