On Dressing Warm and Fashion Jackets

I knew a bit of exercise will do me good. Movement will keep me warm and a good set of clothes to keep me warm while I do it. So I decided to take advantage of late night shopping Thursday and went off to take a 20-minute walk to Westfield Shopping Centre in Marion. Shopping is exercise, yes?

By request of my bestfriend, I set off to buy her a couple of pairs of shoes that she saw me buy recently. Seeing that I got a good deal on these flats, she asked if I get them for her as well. In different colours, of course.

I was going shopping myself (what else is new?). I wanted to check out a few pairs of shoes I was looking at online and get me a pair of new jeans. But as luck would have it, availability can be a tricky thing with these things. Major bummer. So I ended up hoarding socks and more tights (more hosiery!) and spotted a well worth pair of jeans to compensate for the failed search. I’m still undecided whether to get the pair of shoes or not. I’ll give it a few more days of “sleeping on it”.

Watch Lady Gaga Perform ‘Judas’ at Cannes

Okay, seems like the people of France would have appreciated that sax solo a lot more than “Magdalene fashion,” but we guess she has to push “Judas” a few days longer. The “waaah ah ahh ah” bit is definitely getting catchier with age. – nymag

Between Bites Top 10 Best Japanese Restaurant

    10. Nagomi Japanese Restaurant

Upon entering Nagomi, one would feel the Japanese vibe of the restaurant, with the usual rack stand of Japanese magazines, private rooms with sliding doors and certain pieces like the Japanese lantern and posters add to the whole appearance. The very long sushi bar seals the deal.

Nagomi sometimes has that old smell but it doesn’t stop Japanese business men from the Ortigas area to frequent the place. This Japanese restaurant has a wide range of dishes to offer. It shows in their extensive menu.

If you don’t feel adventurous, their cold soba with tempura set satisfies your cold noodle craving at a reasonable price.

    Lourd de Veyra Launches INSECTISSIMO!

Lourd de Veyra, multi-awarded musician, journalist, and three-time recipient of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature, launched his third poetry collection: INSECTISSIMO! last May 7 at Cubao X.

The author, especially known for his witty Word of the Lourd social commentary videos, attacks his poems with words and imagery of the same social savvy and humor. True to form, De Veyra particularly devoted one poem to “Wasak”, a pop culture phenomenon which “celebrates the damaged, fragmented, and ironic culture that is the Philippines.”

7 Ways to Get Over your Facebook Addiction

Read this then share it with your friends if you have any.

I have to admit, the first time I joined Facebook, and I found myself tapping into it constantly. It’s as if I was going to miss something important if I didn’t log in and see what was going on or who was posting new information. I don’t think I was to the point of being addicted to Facebook, but that’s just my opinion! If you feel you’ve become absorbed in the going-ons of FB, then take a look at the following list. Here are 7 ways to get over your Facebook addiction. I hope you find something that helps.

    7. Sign up on a different site
Maybe you need a change of pace to take your mind off of Facebook. Sign up for a writing site or one that goes along with a particular hobby you enjoy, such as gardening or woodworking. Some people don’t have any other sites they go to, which might be the cause for an addiction to start with Facebook.

    6. Get a friend to help
Call up a trusted friend when you feel like chatting, instead of getting on Facebook. I know it’s a lot easier to connect with tons of friends all at once on FB. But, if you are trying to refrain from spending so much time on there, then you might try using the phone to get in contact with one of your dear friends instead.

    5. Delete your account
This is a rather extreme one and might be hard for the true Facebook addict to go through with. Sure, you can always form a new account again, but you might be more inclined to stay away from Facebook for a while if you don’t have an account to quickly log into.

    4. Make a list of other things you can do besides log on to Facebook
Just to get you started, how about these: read a book, go for a walk, play fetch with the dog, wash the car, look at the stars, play with your kids, work in the garden, brush the cat, try a new recipe, take up knitting, or enjoy a bubble bath. There are tons of things you can do besides go to Facebook.

    3. Set a timer
I’ve found myself blindly clicking away on the same pages over and over again without realizing what I was doing. If you limit the amount of time you are ‘allowed’ to spend on FB, then maybe you’ll be less inclined to sit there and stare at the screen for hours on end. I know those games can really suck you in too! Put a time limit on those as well.

    2. Slowly wean yourself from logging on in the first place
When you have the urge to log onto Facebook, take a moment and find something else to do first. See if you can lengthen the amount of time you spend away from FB. Eventually you might be able to go more than an hour without logging in!

    1. Take up a hobby outside the house
Facebook can take up a lot of time, which is one way to keep boredom at bay. Why not get a hobby that takes you out of the house, such as quilting, painting, or gardening? Take a class at a nearby college. There might be one on photography and you’ll be able to meet other people interested in photography as well. Hopefully these new friends don’t suggest that you should keep in touch via Facebook.

Godney the Holy Spearit Biographic Comic Out Today!

The Spears comic will focus on her rise to stardom, her documented private life and her efforts to be understood, said Patrick McCray, who wrote the issue.

“She is far more complicated than most people realize. No matter what preconceptions you have about her, there will always be more layers and surprises,” he said in a statement. “Beyond the performer, there is a real human being there, struggling for a real life, struggling to connect with her art, and struggling to be understood.”

Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis said Spears’ life reflected the core of the company’s “Fame” line of biography titles has tried to achieve.

“She was created in the Internet Age to be put on a pedestal, but no one can stand the glaring lights of celebrity that intensely,” he said. “The title seeks to find the person within.”

The 32-page issue, illustrated by Ricardo Jaime, comes out Wednesday in comic book stores and online retailers.

    Praise Godney!
